Cheryl and Neil
FUNDING OPPORTUNITY - SOUTH CROYDON
Housing costs in the local area are so high that without Mission Housing’s help we might be faced with having to leave London. Being able to live in the area we’re seeking to serve, where the majority of the congregation live and where our children go to school would make a massive difference to our lives and our ability to serve our Church.
Could you provide a loan or donate to a deposit fund for Neil and Cheryl to put down roots in South Croydon?
Both Neil and Cheryl are deeply committed to the work at their church. Neil is the Lead Elder, overseeing all activities of the church, and Cheryl is responsible for kids church as well as internal/external communication.
They are passionate about church unity and actively collaborate with other churches in the area, through Churches Together and other informal unity movements. They are also linked to a number of churches worldwide, believing they can achieve more together than alone.
Their work is deeply rooted in the community through initiatives like the Jubilee Coffee Shop, Alpha Courses and helping people connect with Jesus.
A shared ownership home would allow Neil and Cheryl to remain embedded in the community they serve, offering hospitality and continuing their ministry more effectively, along with reducing the strain of unsecure tenancies and provide long-term stability for their family.
Cheryl and Neil are committed to serving God in South Croydon and need to find a permanent home. They love the work that they do and long for a home that can be a stable and secure base for their work and hospitality to flourish.
A home suitable for their requirements will cost in the region of £550,000 – which is more than they can afford. That’s why they are working in partnership with Mission Housing – a Christian charity that enables key Christian workers to buy a shared ownership.

Could you provide a loan to enable Cheryl & Neil to permanently move into the community they love to live and work in?
